Ramboll has had a long history in participating in global forums, exhibitions, and summits, allowing for greater reach and better understanding between partners, shareholders, and clients.   It is even more important to allow junior staff to experience these global events in order to help build insight into their future career for greater success and achievement.

Jessica Voorn, an Assistant Urban Planner and recent graduate who joined Ramboll a short time ago, was lucky to have the fantastic opportunity to participate in Ramboll's Young Talents program, along with two other juniors from Ramboll Sweden and Finland.  They were all chosen to take part in the WCS, a global event bringing together professionals, senior officials, and city leaders.

This international event brings together professionals in urban planning from different cities across the globe.  The summit looked at the state of urban challenges today and identified principles of shared solutions applicable to cities spanning the range of development, socio-economic and political contexts.

Jessica was able to attend both the Ramboll hospitality suite and exhibition stand in order to meet and greet attendees at the WCS and answer any questions which also allowed her to provide a background on Ramboll services internationally and make introductions by putting people in touch with senior members of staff with regards to enquiries or business development.  She worked alongside many other senior members, providing support and successfully representing Ramboll as a member of its young and vibrant team.

One of Jessica's main goals, however, was to learn and gain exposure in an area of her interest.  "I was really looking forward to attending the WCS, as I have a keen interest in sustainable development, social sustainability and the issues surrounding creating sustainable/ liveable cities in the future - from an Urban Planning and Urban Design point of view."

"Being able to meet, interact and network with Ramboll employees from across the world was the most unique aspect for me. It is not very often you can spend time and interact on a one-on-one basis with different disciplines from other Ramboll offices."

Above all else, Ramboll was able to fully partake in the summit increasing its reach and solidifying the company's international status.

"Recognition at such events is key to expanding business, especially in places where Ramboll is looking to venture into. Many meetings were held and important contacts were made throughout the four days."
