The 21.5km Ganga Path or Ganga Driveway is a four-lane highway from Digha to Didarganj in Patna, Bihar across the Ganges river, which will ease heavy traffic congestion on the roads and boost the economic activities of the area.
Ramboll played a pivotal role as the proof consultant for this majestic project that comprises of a 7.6km long elevated structure along the bank of the Ganges river and is built on a large diameter deep pile foundation, a first for India.
The independent check on pile foundation was done through rigorous non–linear analysis with assistance from our bridges team in the United Kingdom. Ramboll was engaged to provide verification reports for embankment and pavement design for the project.
Ramboll was also involved in the review of field investigation reports such as topography, geotechnical, material and hydrology.
The team conducted a review of plan and profile, junction drawings. Ramboll did the proof checking of major bridge design, grade separators, rail over bridge, underpasses and culverts.
The review of river training works, miscellaneous drawings such as the toll plaza, signage, road markings was conducted by our team of bridge experts in India.
Ramboll also provided construction support for the project.
