Offshore wind turbines
CLP Power has started the preliminary engineering studies, collection of environmental data, and stakeholder communications for the proposed Hong Kong Offshore Wind Farm as part of the ongoing feasibility study. The potential offshore wind farm shall be located in the southeastern waters of Hong Kong and will consist of 17-31 wind turbines with a total capacity of approximately 250MW. In support of Hong Kong government’s long-term decarbonisation strategy to achieve carbon neutrality before 2050, the wind farm will result in an annual CO2 reduction of more than 220,000 tons and cover the power consumption of approximately 140,000 households.
Ramboll’s contract covers support to CLP Power in developing a robust project development strategy and schedule, as well as preliminary engineering services to develop the base case technical concept including preliminary wind farm layout, concept foundation design, electrical concept, and Transport & Installation concept.
