The award recognises the individual who has demonstrated the greatest level of professional development and is somebody to watch out for in the future.
Commenting on his feat, Ishan said: ‘I am extremely honoured to have won the Rising Star of the Year award at this year's construction week awards. The award is a huge testament to the work delivered by the sustainability team and the wider Ramboll Middle East team over the past year. I would especially like to thank Ali Amiri for the constant support and entrusting me with various responsibilities that cumulatively enhanced my professional growth and my nomination criteria for this award.'
Ishan has a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Heriot Watt University in 2017. He is a Senior Sustainability Consultant at Ramboll in the Middle East and has over five of experience. Throughout his career, Ishan has worked on several high-profile projects with ambitious sustainability aspirations across the Middle East and Asia. He has also worked directly with prominent clients across the region to help them develop and achieve their sustainability goals. As well as being a LEED accredited professional, he is also an Estidama Pearl Qualified Professional and is working towards his PMP certification. Ishan has also actively participated in the regional construction industry through research-related publications and projects. The topics include carbon embodied, near-zero energy construction sites offices, and exploring net-zero design as the DNA of our industry.
There were fifteen shortlisted nominees from different companies coveted for the Rising Star of the Year, one of the most popular categories at the Construction Week Awards. Ishan has demonstrated the most significant professional development and positive contribution to the company's operating performance. Ishan has shown his ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary setting on numerous projects. He is one of the youngest project managers/team leads within Ramboll to have led and delivered significant large-scale projects that left a remarkable impression on his internal and external stakeholders.
Ramboll was also shortlisted for several other nominations, as Consultancy of the Year, as well as Hunyum Murya for Engineer of the Year – our Senior Sustainability Consultant in the Middle East office.
