When new roads and railways are built, it is often necessary to modify overhead transmission lines and towers.
On several occasions Ramboll has assisted Energinet.dk with static analysis and design of the extension of the towers as well as reinforcement or redesign of the foundations.
Such modifications have, for instance, been necessary near Køge on the new railway from Copenhagen to Ringsted. Here it has been necessary to increase the height of towers and to move some of the towers to a new location. In one instance it has been necessary to place the tower eccentrically on the foundation.
Ramboll was commissioned with the project as Ramboll has profound knowledge of the design and analysis of overhead transmission line towers.
